چکیده

Co-infections or consecutive infections of mucormycosis and aspergillosis are very rare. Additionally, distinguishing between these two is also difficult as both conditions have similar clinical features. We report cases from Tamilnadu, who presented to a tertiary care centre in Puducherry, India 2017 (first case) 2019 (second case). The first case was 70-year-old, non-diabetic male patient with haemoptysis prior history pulmonary tuberculosis. Computed tomography bronchial angiography revealed an air-crescent sign the histopathological examination showed fungal ball (aspergillus mucor) upper lobe foci infection middle lobe. The second 65-year-old diabetic blackish expectoration haemoptysis. A high-resolution computed scan reverse-halo right results bronchoscopy-guided biopsy were consistent diagnosis mixed angioinvasion. Both patients responded amphotericin B surgical excision affected case.A high degree suspicion, early intervention antifungal therapy essential treatment this rare co-infection.

Mixed Fungal Infection (Aspergillus, Mucor, and Candida) of Severe Hand Injury

Severe hand injuries are almost always heavily contaminated and hence wound infections in those patients are frequent. Fungal wound infections are rare in immunocompetent patients. A case of mixed fungal infection (Aspergillus, Mucor, and Candida) was documented in a young male patient, with a severe hand injury caused by a corn picker. The diagnosis of fungal infection was confirmed microbiolo...

Hydroxylation of 1,8-cineole by Mucor ramannianus and Aspergillus niger

The monoterpenoid 1,8-cineole is obtained from the leaves of Eucalyptus globulus and it has important biological activities. It is a cheap natural substrate because it is a by-product of the Eucalyptus cultivation for wood and pulp production. In this study, it was evaluated the potential of three filamentous fungi in the biotransformation of 1,8-cineole. The study was divided in two steps: fir...
